My inspiration for the background was Zac Retz art style of unrefined brushwork

.

A small project for uni in which I tried to recreate toon-shader like characters in an abstract abandoned, overgrown place in the forest. With regards to the climate change and more and more old industries and work places getting abandoned, this idea spoke to me very much. I tried to show the peaceful, good aspect by creating white and rounded characters, symbolizing kindred animals reclaiming places just like nature does.

Virtual Hub

My very first virtual hub! I drew the image I used as a background some time ago in photoshop and I still love the atmosphere to this very day. Having it as a sphere skybox definitely made this hub feel very familiar, warm and comfy to me. I love how versatile CG is, and how easy it is to recycle it! ;)

Short video collages - 3D glitch

A short animation about 3D glitch and postdigitalism. I tried to use a lot of human 3D model clips to showcase how our culture is becoming more and more digital but isn’t quite there yet. The mannequins are

mostly unrefined. The video was kept in Black and White to make a more cohesive group project out of it but also to keep it monochromatic and more dull overall.

My first WOW moment!

Sometime in the 2000’s I remember watching a certain movie in my old living room when I used to live with my parents. It was a time when there were no computers for common people or even a well established internet. Simply said, there was no way to google how things worked back then. It was a lot easier to just believe in magic and that movie enhanced that explanation even further - at least visually.
Whether you could move into walls, extend buildings to look like they have no ceilings from the inside or animate fantasy-creatures, everything was so seamlessly well-done that it helped me emerge into the world in which that movie has taken place.
It actually is probably still very difficult to pull off to this day. The magic does lie at least in the skills of some people, even if the technology is a little different than the traditional wands.

Flying candles in a mini-nightsky above long tables of food for students from different groups. A talking hat and most importantly, a troll inside the girls bathroom. Little elements with huge impact on the imagery of the world of a certain boy with magical abilities.
