Motion Collage - Immersed Narratives

During the discussions about our topic we had an intense
time creating the look and story of the video together. That‘s why we got
caught up working on one piece and not 3 approaches. The video combines 3 levels
concerning the topic of Immersed Narratives. One part is the background,
which is a real filmed scene that guides the story.
An animation with generative properties is embedded into the „analog“ surroundings.
The texts are also processed to fit the theme of water and reflection/distortion.
A rule was also avoiding colors to maintain clarity.
Coding a Loop
I coded two different loops in processing, visualized in shape of ellipses
with different relational concepts. Afterwards I edited the sketches in after effects
and roughly masked one video onto the other, without unfortunately having the time to
get crazy in 3D animated movement. Though I did some quite successful shape studies in
processing and overcame the one or other big confusion about code and key frames.
